William Hall and Mary Cumming

On December 18, 1885, the widower and laborer William Hall married Mary Cumming, a housekeeper and spinster at 33 South Methhven Street in Perth, Scotland. This address for the wedding was Mary’s usual residence. William lived at 56 West Mill Street in Perth, which was just around the corner.. William was  54, and Mary was 39. She had been born in Blair Atholl, Perthshire, in 1846.  Mary’s parents were Alexander Cumming, a laborer, and Isabella Robertson Cumming. The witnesses were E. Milne and James Hall. I found their marriage record on Scotland’s People,  a pay site which I think is both reasonable and helpful.

My Mom Ada

This blog traces the family history of my mom, Edith Porter Duffy. From the time I was a little girl, my mom would tell me stories about her family, who all called her Ada. I only wish I had asked her more questions while she was still here!
